Joanne Slaughter

Joanne Slaughter

Owner/Underwater Photographer

Jo has been an underwater photographer for over 15 years.  She was introduced to the idea of photographing kids underwater when she met Stuart Ireland from Calypso Productions in Cairns. His 30 years experience in underwater photography and videography inspired her to learn the craft and start her own business. Her passion for working with children grew after becoming a mother to Kayla and Sienna. Soon she was photographing her daughters underwater and the positive reaction she received was so overwhelming that she realised there was a growing demand for professional underwater photography in swim schools. Puddle Pics was born.

I love working with Puddle Pics – It’s a fun job! I’m active in the water, working in the industry I love and having a laugh while I’m at it! It’s a full on job but very rewarding.
I’ve had my own camera since I was 9 but really started shooting about 8-10 years ago.
I was brought up around the beach so it was a necessity to be able to swim, my parents taught me.

Georgia (or “Red” to the team) is an underwater photographer. She loves working with kids and doing something fun that they can show off to their family. She grew up near the Yarra River so being in the water is like second nature to her! So much so that sometimes she gets called a mermaid.

What I love about working for Puddle Pics is that every day is a new and fun challenge.
I’ve been taking photos for about six years but only started taking it seriously in the last two.
I’ve been swimming since I was a kid.  Growing up, my friends and I would always ride our bikes to the local pool.  I still vividly remember those summers.  Eventually, my family built a pool in the backyard and it become our new local hangout.

What I love the most about working for Puddle Pics is the challenge of juggling a camera, children and photographing underwater in different pools.

I have been a professional photographer for around three years but photography has always been a passion. I’ve loved swimming for as long as I can remember! My sister and I grew up swimming in the river near our home.

Sales – Melbourne

Lesley looks after our Melbourne sales and loves the variety of locations and the flexibility of working hours that working for Puddple Pics provides. She also enjoys photography in her spare time.
Growing up in the country she and other kids taught themselves how to swim, what she calls “swimming” her son calls ” thrashing around in the water!”
Jane Ortiz

Jane Ortiz

VIC State Manager

Swimming has always been part of Jane’s life – from beach visits and school carnivals as a child to summers in the backyard pool with her grandchildren.

She loves seeing children inspired to swim the best they ever have done – infront of the camera. She has been working with Puddle Pics since April 2018, out of retirement and into the water!

I love the energy of interacting with the children and how enthusiastic they get when they see the pictures you’ve taken for them underwater!

I started experimenting with photography back in 2014 during my visual art studies and have been hooked ever since! I’ve always been keen for learning new techniques and styles to add to my creative drive.

Growing up I spent my fair share of swimming at local pools and the beach in summer.

I love that I have the chance to be in the water taking pictures all the time since I am very passionate about underwater/surf photography, and nothing better than having the chance to do what I love the most. Also, I really like that the staff is always very supportive and nice.
I’ve been a photographer for 6 years now.
Yes, I started taking swimming lessons when I was really young and since then I took a few more from time to time to keep practising.

I absolutely love working at puddle pics!!! This is by far the best job I have ever had. I love getting to spend time in the water and play with the kids. Plus I get to take pictures all day which is awesome!!! I have been swimming my entire life. When I was four my grandpa taught me how to swim while he sat in a chair beside the pool. He could not swim and I still have no idea how he taught me. I have always adored swimming, I was always the last one out of the pool!!! In my free time I love to go scuba diving and snorkeling, really any excuse to get in the water. I am fairly new to photography. I briefly worked on a yearbook staff in school and I occasionally use the camera on my phone. Thankfully Jo and Jasmine have helped me a ton with my photography skills!!!

Debbie Hatumale-Uy

Debbie Hatumale-Uy

Social Media Manager

Debbie thinks that her fascination with the water started in her mum’s tummy!

She started swimming lessons at 6 and kept up the training to compete at a state level. She has held a few district records along the way but has since hung up her racing goggles to work full time in marketing.

She thinks that the water gene has passed on to her son, who knew how to splash water on command before his first birthday!

Coreena AKA CocoSay she has been an underwater photographer for over a year now.

She loves putting a smile on children’s faces and hearing them laugh! She also loves being able to capture beautiful memories. Being in the water is nothing new to Coco, having started swimming lessons at 6 years old. Since then, swimming has been the only sport you’ll ever see her participate in!

I love working with cameras and doing something creative that keeps me moving. I have so much fun swimming and photographing the kids. It’s a great experience to share.
I have been a photographer 1 and a half years now. My mom was a photographer so I learned to love it from her.
I grew up on the Great Lakes in America’s Midwest, and had a cabin on the Mississippi River as well. We spend a lot of time enjoying tubing, fishing, and boating. The lake ater was often muddy and I didn’t enjoy swimming in the deep bits!

I love the Puddle Pics team, everyone is super awesome and seeing all the kids smile because they are so proud of themselves makes me super happy. I have been a photographer for around 9 years. I first fell in love with photography around 14 years and have never wanted to do anything else since. I grew up swimming and always went to the beach with my family. My mum would always have trouble getting me out of the water.
